Coming off a devastating loss to the Michigan Stars, Liquid Football looks to get back on its feet in its game against Futsal Factory Academy.
Liquid was mathematically eliminated from winning the title with the loss to the Stars 3-1 on Tuesday evening at the Michigan Stars Sports Center.
Liquid took the lead early via an Atou Dia header, but in the second half, the tide shifted, and it was all Michigan Stars. Three unanswered goals for the Stars within the final 20 minutes of the game sealed the fate of Liquid Football’s season.
Liquid moves on to play Futsal Factory Academy, who they tied 1-1 in Liquid’s home opener at Gabriel Richard Catholic High School earlier in the season.
Futsal Factory is a significant player in the futsal world. With branches all over the country, it has played a massive part in the growth of Futsal in the United States.
Futsal Factory's roster is young but includes multiple US Futsal National Team players.
In their previous game, Futsal Factory lost to Cedars 4-2 on June 29th at Fordson High School in Dearborn. Will Futsal Factory be rusty, or will they be well-rested and ready to go?
Futsal Factory will be looking to finish their season on a high note. They are 2-5-2 on the season, and Liquid is their last game.
Futsal Factory has yet to beat Liquid. Liquid played them in their home opener last season, beating them 2-1, and played in Liquids home opener again this year, and they tied 1-1.
Liquid has been short-handed the last few games. It will be the same story for the game against Futsal Factory. With the short turnaround, Liquid will have had less rest than Futsal Factory, who have had two weeks since their last match.
Liquid’s match against Futsal Factory Academy is on Saturday, July 13, at 7 p.m. at Dexter High School.
